MG Motor Gets Strong Growth in EV Segment With ZS, Comet EV

Electric vehicle (EV) sales have grown rapidly in the country in the last few years. MG Motor’s growth in the EV segment has been 39 percent in the second quarter of this year. The company has ZS EV and Comet EV in the country. These EVs account for about 40 percent of its total sales.

ZS EV has performed brilliantly for the company. Its sales have increased by almost 95 percent in the second quarter. Its Comet EV is the most affordable electric car in the country. After Tata Motors, MG Motor is the second largest manufacturer of electric vehicles. MG Motor has prepared to launch its third EV in the country. Its testing has been started.

The ZS EV is available in two variants, Excite and Exclusive. It comes with six charging options including DC Super Fast Chargers, AC Fast Chargers and Portable Chargers. company MG Motor has also offered free installation of charger at home or office for ZS EV customers. MG Motor claims that ZS EV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds. It comes with a battery pack of 50.3 kWh capacity, which is connected to a permanent magnetic synchronous motor. This powertrain gives the car 174 bhp of power. Last year, the company received a BS6 certificate for this. EV An order for 500 units was received from ride sharing platform BluSmart Mobility.

Comet EV is available in three variants. Its range is about 230 km. It has 12 inch steel wheels. Its battery is of 17.3 kWh. It is a two-door, four seat sub-compact hatchback. Comet EV is 2,974 mm in length, 1,505 mm in width and 1,631 mm in height. Its electric motor produces 41.42 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque. It comes with a 3.3 kWh charger. It can fully charge the battery in seven hours. It has two 10.25 inch screens. One of these is for instrument cluster and the other for infotainment. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are made available with this electric car.
