social media In today’s era, everyone has become fond of making reels and vlogs. But the Kerala High Court has taken a tough stand on this trend. LiveLaw Report According to the High Court’s decision, it has been said that if the driver is found recording any video or vlogging in the cabin, he will be fined heavily or a challan will be issued. Apart from this, the High Court has issued an order to the Vehicle Department to collect challan for cars with excessive modifications.
The court said that modifications such as unauthorized lights and aftermarket exhaust systems are illegal and such vehicles violate the safety standards of AIS 008. They also increase pollution. Along with illegal modifications on cars, buses found with unauthorized LED lights will also be fined.
The court says that video recording or vlogging in the drive cabin of moving vehicles, stage carriages, heavy cargo vehicles, or other vehicles is dangerous. This distracts the driver and can lead to a major accident. The decision states that if any other person is found vlogging along with the car driver, legal action will be taken against the driver. The Motor Vehicle Department can take action for this under Section 190 (2) of the Motor Vehicles Act. Under which the license can also be canceled.
The court has asked the enforcement department to YouTube Identify vehicles that have been modified excessively by scanning the videos. Instructions have also been issued to take action against such vehicles.
