Google maps flyover alert callout feature launched You will not miss while driving

Google Maps New Feature: People who use Google Maps while driving often get confused on flyovers. They are not able to clearly know which flyover to take and which not to. Many times, due to this confusion, people stray from the route and get stuck in traffic jams for hours. On Thursday, Google made this problem much easier. According to a PTI report, Google has introduced several new features on its Google Maps. These include information on electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, flyover callouts and AI-powered routing capabilities to reduce the use of narrow roads for four-wheelers. Google Maps has taken this step at a time when it is facing tough competition from domestic company Ola Maps.

According to the report, while announcing the new features, Google Maps said that this is an exciting time for mapping. The company has also decided to reduce the price of Google Map platform for developers by up to 70 percent from August 1.

Just a few weeks ago, Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal openly said that Indian developers should stay away from Google Maps. He also offered developers free access to Ola Maps for one year.

In response to a question on the competition from Ola and the decision to reduce the price of the Google Maps platform, Google Maps officials said that we do not focus on our competitors. However, the most important among the announcements made by Google on Thursday is the Flyover callout.

You will get flyover alert while driving

If this feature of Google Maps works properly, you will not miss taking the wrong flyover. As soon as you come close to the flyover, you will get an alert whether to take the flyover or not or which flyover you should take. The new feature of Google Maps has been rolled out for 8 cities right now. These include Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Indore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar etc.
