Netflix Free Plan With Ad Support May Launch Soon in Asian Europe Market All Details


Netflix may introduce a free plan that will allow users to watch its content absolutely free without any charges. However, there will reportedly be a condition. A report says that Netflix is ​​​​thinking of bringing a plan in which users will be able to watch the platform’s content for free with ads. The video-streaming platform is said to be considering launching this free plan in select markets around the world. If this plan is introduced, it will also be below the current most affordable ad-supported plan (only in some regions).

Bloomberg’s Report According to the report, the video-streaming platform has discussed introducing a free plan in Asian and European markets, where other free TV networks also have free plans. It is expected that this plan will offer free viewing of Netflix’s content, but with ads. Citing people familiar with the company’s planning, the report said that the move is aimed at increasing the users of the video-streaming platform.

If this turns out to be true, this will not be the first time Netflix will offer free video streaming. A free plan for Android smartphones was introduced in Kenya in 2021. However, it was discontinued last year. The new ad-supported free plan may target users in Asia and Europe, but according to the latest report, Netflix has no plans to introduce this free category in the US. The company already offers an ad-supported plan in some regions, which is the most economical way to watch Netflix and costs $6.99 (roughly Rs. 600) per month.

According to Netflix’s advertising president Amy Reinhard, this ad-based plan currently has 40 million active users globally, up from 5 million users last year. Furthermore, the company claims that 40 percent of all its sign-ups come from the ad-supported plan in the countries where it is available.

According to the report, apart from gaining more users, the new alleged free plan could also help bring in more advertising for the video-streaming platform.
