of the Economic Times Report According to him, the performance of SEBEX 2 is tremendous. It is being said that there can be demand for it all over the world. It is twice as deadly as trinitrotoluene (TNT). How dangerous an explosive can be is determined by its TNT capacity.
The aim of SEBEX 2 is to increase the destructive power of artillery shells and warheads without adding extra weight. If there is a demand for this explosive in the world, then India can become a new market and by increasing the production of explosives, it can write a new story in the defense sector.
According to the report, the new formulation of SEBEX 2 was tested under the Navy’s Defense Export Promotion Scheme. Economic Explosives Limited, a subsidiary of Nagpur-based Solar Industries, has developed three new explosive formulations.
According to the report, conventional explosives like Dentex/Torpex which are used in weapons, aerial bombs and many other ammunitions across the world have a TNT equivalent of 1.25-1.30. Since SEBEX 2 has twice the potency of TNT, it becomes more lethal.
Meanwhile, the company is also reportedly developing another version, which is expected to have an explosive power 2.3 times greater than TNT.
