Xiaomi Presents its EV SU7 in Country After Gaining Big Success in Smartphone Market

Chinese consumer electronics company Xiaomi has a major share in the country’s smartphone market. On the occasion of completion of 10 years of business in the country, the company has displayed its first electric car SUV7. SUV7 was launched in China in March this year. The company has invested about $10 billion in the EV project. It also plans to launch some other EVs.

for SUV7 Xiaomi It has received more than 70,000 bookings. The company’s target is to deliver one lakh units of it by the end of this year. Its price is around $30,000. Its price is about $4,000 less than the lowest priced Model 3 of American electric vehicle maker Tesla. EV Some international automobile companies are planning to launch their vehicles in the market. China’s BYD is already selling its Seal EV.

Xiaomi has launched SU7 in China in entry level variant, Pro variant, Max and Limited Founders Edition. The company claims that the top-end Max variant has a top speed of around 265 kmph. It can reach a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.78 seconds. Its Limited Founders Edition has dual motor and four-wheel powertrain. It gives a power of around 986 bhp. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 1.98 seconds. The range of its Max variant on a single charge is around 810 km and the base variant is around 700 km.

It has two battery options. Its entry level variant has a 73.6 kWh battery pack and the top variant has a 101 kWh battery pack. Xiaomi can also bring a bigger 150 kWh battery pack next year which will have a range of up to 1,200 kilometers. These batteries support ultra fast charging with 486V architecture. EV sales have grown rapidly in China in the last few years. China is also a big market for Tesla. However, for the last few months, the company is facing tough competition from Chinese EV makers like BYD. Xiaomi’s SUV7 can also become a challenge for Tesla.
