Xiaomi has announced a new update on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. Post In its post, it was told that 10,000 units of Xiaomi SU7 were sold in the month of June. The company wrote in its post, (translated) “In June 2024, the delivery volume of Xiaomi SU7 increased by 10,000 units!” Xiaomi has also expressed the expectation of similar performance for the month of July. The starting price of the Xiaomi SU7 electric car is 215,900 yuan (about Rs 24.90 lakh). This price is less than the price of Tesla Model 3 in China. The Xiaomi SU7 EV comes in four variants, including an entry-level variant, a Pro variant, a Max variant and a Limited Founder Edition.
SU7 is a four-door sedan, measuring 4,997 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, 1,455 mm in height and 3,000 mm in wheelbase. It gets 19-inch Michelin alloy wheels. The top-end Max Edition of the Xiaomi electric sedan can run at a top speed of 265 kmph. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 2.78 seconds. Regarding the range, the company claims that the SU7 can give a range of up to 810 km on a full charge. The Limited Founders Edition with dual motor, 4-wheel drive powertrain can generate power of about 986 bhp and accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 1.98 seconds.
The Xiaomi SU7 features two sizes of battery sourced from CATL. The entry-level variant gets a 73.6 kWh battery pack. The top-of-the-line variant gets a 101 kWh battery pack. According to the brand, the battery will offer a range of at least 700 kilometres on a single charge. The EV maker is also expected to launch a larger 150 kWh battery pack next year that promises to offer a range of 1,200 km. This electric sedan may support ultra fast charging. Xiaomi claims that its 486V architecture can allow the EV to provide a range of 350 kilometres with just 15 minutes of charging. It also offers a larger 871V architecture that can help the EV provide up to 510 kilometres of range in 15 minutes of charging.
